GM Diet – Day 3

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruit & Vegetable Day

So onto the 3rd day of the GM Diet it is, this is the day it’s meant to get a little easier as your body adapts, fingers crossed!! Last night’s Budo Ryu was OK, I faltered a little towards the end of the night but made it through OK, this morning’s training at the gym however was another matter. I started with 20 minutes HIIT on the running machine as the squat rack was busy as was the bench press, then I moved onto squat, I reduced the weight to 65kg so not particularly heavy and did 3 x 10 reps, the last set I only just managed to re-wrack the bar before passing out, the tank is most definitely empty today!! I braved 3 x 10 @ 45kg on the bench after, again not heavy but I definitely feel weaker at the moment.

Training Diary – 9th May 2012

Got told off by Tony (One of the fitness first personal trainers) for taking my shoes off on the squat, apparently fitness first is not for heavy weight training which I find a little odd considering the multitude of heavy plates they have available, hey hey, so I guess I need to invest in flat shoes then, the air in my trainers definitely made things harder and will not aid my progress when things actually get heavy, deadlift is heading that way, might progress squat a bit further next week, everything else is about OK for now.

Training Diary – 7th May 2012

Wasn’t loving going to the gym today, been struggling with the sleep for the past few days what with Daizee-Mai screaming her head of all night every night and kicking me in the face and back to go with it, anyway being the dedicated fellow that I am I made myself go, by jove though it was busy but actually getting onto the stuff I needed was OK considering. So to the weights, all good, definitely felt strong on everything and manage to successfully lift everything that was planned so all good!

Training Diary – 4th May 2012

I struggled to get up this morning after last nights events at Karate but I did get up and did head to the gym, I didn’t think I would do too well but when I got there and started I surprised myself and managed to complete the whole routine without too much struggle so all good, last day of training till Monday though thank god, I need the break, next time I train I should nearly be fully loaded on creatine so lets see how I perform then, game on!!

Training Diary – 2nd May 2012

Day two of the new increased weight apart from moving backwards on the military press to ensure I retain good form throughout all the exercises, still found bench hard after this so looks like I am going to have to shift it back more so, all in the name of form though which is far more important, progression will come!

Training Diary – 30th April 2012

Everything went up 2.5kg this week apart from where I identified things are too heavy to keep good form, so lets see how the progression continues, I’ve lost no weight but am visibly leaner, even the boss (wife) said so which must mean it’s true, this signifies an increase in lean muscle mass which is exactly what I need to happen.

Definitely feel stronger and not losing form too much, tomorrow will be the real test with bench and military presses on the same day … bring it on!

Training Diary – 27th April 2012

Well this is the first week I have trained a full three days in the gym and two days at karate, I am feeling it but it’s all good, I will get used to it the body is good at adapting when you push it.

Training Diary – 25th April 2012

So didn’t feel too bad after last night’s karate, a little bit sore, mainly the bottom of my feet where my feet were a little blistered, today I continued the program at the same levels, squat was OK as was bench did back rows instead of military press, feeling that tonight and deadlift was tough but not as bad as it was on day 2 last week so must have made some improvements there for sure.
